GUIDING PRINCIPLES
-
Education is consciousness-centred, placing subjective awareness at the heart of all learning and inquiry.
-
Education embraces embodied knowledge, honouring the body as the primary site of knowledge, wisdom, and ethics.
-
Education cultivates heart-mind integration and qualities that foreground relationships such as compassion, empathy, and loving-kindness.
-
Education is grounded in contemplative education, which centralises reflection, introspection, meditation and other contemplative practices in teaching and learning.
-
Education supports soulful living, encouraging meaning, awe, creativity, discernment and congruence in daily life.
-
Education draws on the inclusivity of integral spirituality, which recognises the truths of modernity and postmodernity, as well as those of ancient wisdom traditions.
-
Education adopts a practice-first approach, privileging experiential learning ahead of theoretical instruction.
-
Education is practice-led, where practice is not the application of theory but a primary way of knowing through doing, reflecting, and refining action in real-world contexts.
-
Education facilitates the integral being of students, a felt sense of completeness and wholeness across all aspects of daily life.
A FEW WORDS FROM THE FOUNDER
“My work has always resided between worlds: between philosophy and practice, education and community, intellectual inquiry and embodied experience. The Art of Integral Being® emerged from a desire not to separate these ways of knowing, but to bring them into conversation. I am interested in how we might create intentional spaces and places that help us understand ourselves, others, and the world/beyond more deeply, and ultimately, help us remember who we are and why we are here.”
